FFAI President Chris Doorly has announced official event dates for 2019, as follows:
Flying Fifteen Regional Events 2019
Northern Championships: 18th & 19th May at Strangford Sailing Club.
East Coast Championships: 22nd & 23rd June at CAYC, Whitehead, Co Antrim.
South Coast Championships: 10 & 11th August at Royal St George Yacht Club, Dun Laoghaire.
Championships of Ireland: 2nd, 3rd and 4th September at the National Yacht Club Dun Laoghaire, as part of the pre-Worlds event.
The committee is considering making the West Coast Championships, part of the Lough Derg Freshwater Regatta, which will take place in October on a date to be confirmed (possibly 12th & 13th October).
Other events to note are the following:
Dun Laoghaire Volvo Regatta: 11th-14th July.
UK Nationals: 24th-27th July in Poole, Dorset. (Refer to UK Flying Fifteen website for other UK events)
Irish Sailing Helmsmans Championships 2019
As some of you know, the Helmsmans Championships will take place in Flying Fifteens at the National Yacht Club in October. We normally nominate our current National Champion of that season (or top of ranking if it has not taken place) and for this event it will be the highest placed Irish boat in the Championship Of Ireland, which is the Pre-Worlds.
