River takes its toll

Alan Dooley on the 2012 Royal Alfred YC Liffey Challenge...

The toll bridge was opened for seven boats, and we sailed in the river between the two bridges on a windward-leeward course, with the highly unpredictable breeze blowing mostly down-river.

Strong turnout for invitation race

There was a strong turnout for the Tuesday evening invitation race on May 29. Racing took place in light winds on the DBSC course, within the harbour. Darren Burke was first of the visiting helms, on Deranged, while Trish Daly led the new crews on Snow White.

Green & Doorly take calm victory in Frostbite series

It was dubbed Super Sunday, as four boats were in contention going into Week 6 of the National Yacht Clubs Derrycourt Cleaning frostbite series for Flying Fifteens, and with two races due it was all up for grabs.

Frostbites week 5: all set up for a showdown

Week 5 of the National Yacht Club's frostbite series for Mermaids, Flying Fifteens and SB3s, sponsored by Derrycourt Cleaning, took place at the weekend in pleasant, sunny conditions and a south, south-east breeze with high water at 1.30pm. Despite it being the bank holiday weekend again, about 40 boats turned out for a great days racing.
